Andy’s Starting Point
Today is my first appointment with Dr. DeRosa and MiraVita. I’m a little nervous but excited as well. My weight has been a problem since I got out of high school. I had it under control while I was in the military but after I injured my back and could no longer work out I gained it all back. I couldn’t work out because every time I would try and exercise it would make my back hurt and would make walking and standing difficult for any length of time. I’m really looking forward to the wonderful opportunity that MiraVita and especially Dr. DeRosa are offering me.
I met with Patrici today and we discussed everything available to me. I decided to go with the HCG diet. The diet looks pretty strict but I believe I can do it. I take 2 white pills 1 hour before breakfast and lunch. Then I take 1 red pill a half hour before breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also take one refrigerator pill in the morning at 8 and one at 8 in the evening. It seems simple but the diet will take some planning and I don’t think I’ll be able to eat out at all. That’s ok, eating out is expensive.
Patrici is very nice and approachable. She seems just as excited about me starting the diet as I am. The information is new for them, but they were able to answer all of my questions and Patrici even suggested some websites with HCG cooking ideas.
The pills are no big deal. I take meds for my back so I’m used to taking pills at a certain time. The refrigerator pill will take some getting used to. It’s kind of nice if you think of it as a dessert – it is like an after dinner mint.
Today is the first real day of the diet. I get to eat all the meats and fatty foods that I want for the next two days. It should be interesting. I took my pills no problem this morning. I made a breakfast burrito with eggs and bacon. Then for lunch I had a cheeseburger with no bun and a beer. Dinner was pot roast and carrots and potato.
Today is the second day of my diet. Another day with eating meats and fatty foods. I made another breakfast burrito with eggs and bacon and added some sausage to it today. Lunch was nice a friend of mine met me and we played pool while eating chicken strips. Today is the last day of eating lots of high protein high fat so I decided to have a nice steak.
I went to Flagstaff to visit my dad today. It’s great to be up here. I love the weather and the trees. I had a half a cucumber for breakfast and a few slices of roasted turkey for lunch. Having a healthy dinner was really difficult tonight. My dad made enchiladas from scratch and it smells delicious. I had a mixed green salad and some blueberries. It was good, but the enchiladas look much more filling. Self-control. The after dinner mint (HCG) helped with the food craving.
I had a few handfuls of blueberries today for breakfast. We went for a hike today and played airsoft and paintball in the forest with my kids and my friends. It was a blast. I had more mixed green salad for dinner. I seem to get hungry around 3 each day. I had a bit of the powder mix in almond milk. It isn’t the greatest tasting stuff, but I’m not complaining. It helped with not being hungry.
Today I had 2 egg whites with some diced baby spinach for breakfast. I had an apple for lunch and an almond milk and powder. Dinner was more mixed greens and a half of a grilled chicken breast. The after dinner mint is really pleasant.
Day Six – Weigh In
I have my second appointment at MiraVita today. I’m a little nervous about it. I hope I’ve lost some weight. I had another apple for breakfast. The diet is pretty strict, but I’m determined to stick to it. Lunch – I had a salad at Zipps. I had them take out the candied walnuts, bacon, and had them hold the dressing. It had cranberries, but I couldn’t remember if they were on my diet so I only had a few. The salad was actually really filling. I think my stomach is starting to shrink. I don’t get as hungry in the afternoon anymore.
I met with Patrici again today. She has such a wonderful upbeat attitude. I’ve lost 3 pounds so far. It’s not as much as I was hoping but it is something and for the first 2 days of this diet I ate a lot of meat. Patrici kept me feeling upbeat about the weight loss. She is really great.
I wasn’t really hungry for dinner so I just had my HCG and read until bed.
