Losing weight can be exhilarating and very frustrating, especially during times when your weight loss stalls. While the scale moves up and down from day to day depending on many factors, plateaus are inevitable during a weight loss program. Here, I’d like to share a few tricks that can help nudge your body back into weight loss.
1/ Increase your water intake. You should be getting at least 128 ounces per day. Add another quart or two of water each day and you’ll soon see the scale begin to move in the right direction. (One quart equals 32 ounces)
2/ Increase your protein by another 1 – 2 servings per day to help fuel your system. Limit your servings of red meat to 1 – 2 servings per week in favor of chicken or fish. Avoid meat products that have added flavor enhancers or preservatives.
3/ Watch your seasonings – too much salt intake can cause fluid retention. Stick to the approved seasonings list in your MiraVita Metamorphosis program package.
4/ Eat fresh fruits and vegetables instead of canned or frozen that could contain preservatives and flavor enhancers. Fresh is better for you!
5/ If you’re eating grain-based or starchy carbohydrates, cut back or eliminate them until you’re back on track and your Transformation Specialist says it’s OK to slowly add them back into your diet.
6/ Use unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar as your salad dressing – it helps your body release stored fats.
7/ Get more sleep. Most people do not get enough rest, which can cause weight gain. Turn off the electronic devices at least an hour before bed so you have time to wind down.
8/ Eat enough fiber – when you’re on a low-carb diet, constipation can be a problem. Add a fiber supplement and increase your fluids to help flush your system.
9/ For the MiraVita Fast Track HCG program – have an “apple day”. Reduce your fluid intake by 1 quart (32 ounces) and eat up to six apples throughout the day instead of your regular food. This helps your body rid itself of excess fluid weight and flush out toxins.
10/ Ease up on your exercise for a couple of days until the scale begins to move downward.
